Lalit K. Jha is the chief U.S. correspondent for the Press Trust of India (PTI) India’s largest and most premiere News Agency. This is his 16th year in Washington as foreign correspondent covering the White House, U.S. Department of State, Pentagon, and Congress. Before coming to Washington for PTI, he reported from New York and covered the United Nations for a few years for various Indian publications including the Indian Express, NDTV.com and IANS. Jha began his career in journalism at IANS, a news agency in India in 1997. In 1999, he joined the Hindu newspaper as a city reporter, where he worked for more than five years.
