Dr Sanjeev Sinha is Professor in the Department of Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He is faculty in-charge of Chest Clinic, PFT Lab, Sleep Lab, Bronchoscopy Laboratory & HIV drug resistant laboratory.

Dr Sinha has a broad background of general medicine, infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, HCV and tuberculosis) , pulmonary & critical care medicine and clinical pharmacology and doing several clinical research projects in the above mentioned specialties. He is also holding the post of Consultant Physician at Department of Medicine (since Jan, 2003) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

After earning his MD (Medicine) degree in year 1995 followed by clinical training & Fellowship (Senior Resident) in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine at AIIMS, he has joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in 2003 and became full Professor in year 2014 at AIIMS, New Delhi.

In addition to many awards and honours, he received Fogarty Fellowship on HIV/AIDS at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the summer of the 2004 & 2005 and Membership Award for National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 2010. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society  and International AIDS Society. He is closely associated with the Clinton Foundation. Dr. Sinha is also associated with National AIDS control organization and Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme at AIIMS.

Dr Sinha is a committed clinician researcher, who continues to be concurrently active in the field of clinical medicine and in multi-dimensional research - basic, applied and translational. Dr Sinha has worked in the field of communicable diseases, non communicable diseases, HIV and pulmonary diseases. Dr Sinha has been actively involved in developing contextually relevant research protocols, which through high quality grant applications, have enabled me to generate more than Rs 20 crores of research funding through national and international sources in the past more than 10 years. The work has translated into high impact publications, key clinical strategies, driven patient care and health care policies. Currently Dr Sinha is a member secretary of AIIMS Ethics Committee (PGR) and member of subject expert committee of DCGI, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, GOI.

In his role as Professor of Medicine and research, Dr. Sinha works closely with the faculty of Medicine to create a new educational environment at AIIMS that brings together graduate students, medical students, trainees, and faculty in shared education and research activities throughout the broad spectrum of clinical practice, teaching and research at AIIMS. Dr Sinha has more than 250 National & International publications. Dr Sinha is involved in several research projects funded by NACO, DBT, ICMR, DOP and NIH, USA. He has active research partnerships with the Harvard Medical School, University of California- Los Angeles, Public Health England and University of Pennsylvania.
