Julie Norville, PhD, is a synthetic biologist, entrepreneur, and investor that is a Venture Partner with Axial.
Dr. Norville was a founder JURA Bio with George Church and Elizabeth Wood developing its cell therapy approaches for autoimmune disorders and its development into an end-to-end discovery and development platform, serving as founding CSO/CTO and a board member.
Dr. Norville was a Research Fellow in Genetics with George Church at Harvard Medical School working on CRISPR (initial demonstrations in human cells, plants, and yeast) and genome engineering. She studied Modular Biological Systems for her doctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Tom Knight, Jr., Angela Belcher, and Gerald Sussman at MIT and received her B.S. from the California Institute of Technology.
Dr. Norville was a co-founder of the non-profit Project Clio, an organization that is dedicated to understanding autoimmune immune disease, and served on its Board.
Dr. Norville is helping to establish the Boston branch of BiotechBikers, an organization that connects bioscience professionals passionate about cycling in a unique global community.
