Fawzi Benzaghou, MD serves as Senior Vice President, Global Head Oncology R&D at Ipsen and is a member of the Executive Research & Development Leadership Team. Fawzi’s prior global roles at Ipsen include Vice President of late-stage Oncology, Vice President of Innovation Oncology, and Global Asset Lead of different oncology drugs. Fawzi has led drug development of several currently approved treatments and has participated to numerous IND submissions . Prior joining Ipsen in 2016, Fawzi worked as Head of Development in a European-based clinical stage biotech focused on oncology therapies .

Fawzi is a board-certified pediatric surgeon and a graduate from Paris University (France) where he practiced several years including at Necker Children’s Hospital, a top European medical research center, obtaining several certificates in oncology and clinical research . He also holds master’s degree from Essec Business School (Paris) in Strategy & Management in Health Industries and is a graduate of Harvard Business School and member of several scientific societies including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the European Society for Medical Oncology and is a co-author of several peer-reviewed publications .

Fawzi is involved in several research and education initiatives and serves on the Board of non-profit International School of Boston and Chairman of its Finance Committee.
