Anita Venkiteswaran is currently a Principal at Roivant Health, the business unit at Roivant Sciences focused on launching companies that bring innovative medicines to emerging markets and improve the process of developing and commercializing new medicines through the application of technology.
Roivant builds Vants – nimble, entrepreneurial biotech and healthcare technology companies with a unique approach to sourcing talent, aligning incentives, and deploying technology to drive greater efficiency in R&D and commercialization. The therapies in development across the family of Vants target a wide range of diseases including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, prostate cancer, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and multiple rare and fatal pediatric conditions.
Immediately prior to joining Roivant, Anita was a senior leader at Focus Financial Partners where she was responsible for business development, acquisition, and operational activities across the portfolio. She was also a private equity investor at CI Capital Partners and Audax Private Equity where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and structuring transactions, coordinating and conducting due diligence, and monitoring the investments post-acquisition. She has also worked at Novartis in Basel. She started her career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in India helping clients across industries devise and implement strategic and operational initiatives.
Anita graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur with a BTech (honors) degree in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering and received her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Anita is on the board of The Alliance for Positive Change, a non-profit organization based in New York City that helps New Yorkers living with HIV and other chronic illnesses like chronic hepatitis, diabetes, addiction, and mental health issues make lasting positive changes towards health, housing, recovery and self-sufficiency.
