Karun Rishi has over 23 years experience in the high tech & management consulting industry. He has held senior management positions in technology companies. Karun has extensive experience managing operations, strategy, planning, international marketing, strategic alliances and government & institutional relations. He is the President and CEO of Influence Technology Inc based in Boston. Karun serves as a board member and President of the USA-India Chamber of Commerce.
Karun interacts with the senior management of US companies to device their India strategy and fulfills their India initiative. His initiatives have lead to several US companies opening or expanding their India operations.
He has worked in executive capacities in seven countries worldwide in the USA, Europe and Asia. He started his career as a founding employee of the largest IT Company in India where he helped grow the company to 5000 employees. In Europe, Karun served as Executive President of the Indian Business Association. From 1994-98, he actively advised Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, Reserve Bank of India, Financial institutions, India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and Department of Electronics (Now Ministry of Communications and Information Technology), Govt. of India on exports and EXIM policy matters.
Karun is active in the speaker circuit. He is frequently called upon to speak and moderate panel discussions at industry forums. Most recently, he organized, moderated or served as panelist for: US-India Biotech Summit; India Healthcare Roundtable with Health Minister of India Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss; Indian Pharma Roundtable with Satwant Reddy, Secretary to Govt. of India; India Roundtable with Assistant Secretary, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, David Bohigian; Investing in Asia Conference by NYSSA; International Development conference at the Kennedy School of Government- Harvard University; Market Access and Policy Support panel discussion at AMCHAM India's India Business Summit; panel discussion on 'Capitalizing on Emerging Trends in the Hottest Industries' at The Deal's BRIC symposium. September 6, 2002 he was invited to open the NASDAQ Market in NYC along with delegation from India.
