Dr. Dinesh Patel M.D. is Chief of Arthroscopic Surgery at Mass. Gen. Hospital and is an Associate Clinical Professor of orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University. He was a member of Harvard Medical School admission committee. He has taught and trained Arthroscopic Surgery all over the world and has been recognized and honored by professional organizations here and abroad. He has been founding member of his professional organization. Some of the honors included an award given by Governor Weld as one of the best new immigrant in Mass. In Nov 2003 he was appointed by Secy. Paige as commissioner and consultant to NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN MEDICAL EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION (NCFMEA)
He has been in US News and World report as one the best doctors. In Feb 2002 Boston magazine voted him by his peers as one of the Top Docs in the field of Orthopedic Surgery. With the help of Corporate and Govt. support, Dr. Patel established Asia's first Center of Excellence in healing art Psychomotor lab in Ahmadabad to teach and train Hands on Skills to all who are involved in learning Surgical disciplines specially Arthroscopic Surgery. He was Chairman of Board of Registration in Medicine [Licensure and Disciplines for doctors] and served as Board member and a member of the executive committee of Federation of State Medical Board the apex body of all State Boards in USA. He is co- founder of NGO-- A Leg to Stand on organization which is involved in helping children who lost limbs and need artificial limbs to walk and write. www.altso.org. He was Commissioner at Catastrophic Illness for Children's Relief Fund in Massachusetts State. In Oct 2005, he was appointed Chairman of the Dubai Health Care city board of licensure. He is a member of the Blue cross and Blue Shield Credential committee and a member of Massachusetts State dispute resolution committee.
He was given Vishwa Gurjari award in 1988. In Jan 2004 he was given a very prestigious Gujarat Garima Award by the Prime Minister of India in Ahmadabad.
