Debasish Roychowdhury received his medical training and doctorate of Medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He received his fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology from University of California, San Francisco, where he was also a scholar in the clinical research program.
After nearly five years a member of the faculty at the University of Cincinnati, he joined Eli Lilly in 1999 and subsequently GlaxoSmithKline in 2005 and sanofi-aventis in 2009. Debasish has deep expertise in drug development and in particular clinical development and regulatory affairs. He has successfully led teams resulting in approvals of six new molecular entities and numerous supplemental indications throughout the world, in the field of oncology, hematology and supportive care.
He is currently senior Vice President and head of the Global Oncology Division for Sanofi and is based in Cambridge, MA.
