Dr. Robert Urban leads Johnson & Johnson Innovation. Johnson & Johnson Innovation includes globally distributed centers which are home to teams that work closely with entrepreneurs, J&J’s corporate venture arm (JJDC) and JLABS to advance products and technology across the pharmaceuticals, medical device and consumer sectors. Their investments focus on people and programs that have the potential to not just advance healthcare, but to transform it.
Prior to J&J, Robert was the founding Executive Director of MIT’s Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. Robert has co-founded multiple biopharmaceutical companies, held a variety of R&D leadership/operational roles and served as an advisor or board member in the industry. Robert received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Microbiology and his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Texas system and was an Irvington Fellow in structural immunology at Harvard University.
