Bill Wray is Group Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Citizens Financial Group. Bill manages Citizens Services Group, the enterprise technology and operations arm of Citizens, which includes over 3,500 employees. He is a member of the Executive Policy Committee, the company’s senior management team.

As CIO, Wray is responsible for integrating the technical and operational aspects of all acquisitions, and for managing large system initiatives such as branch automation and enterprise imaging. He also oversees all core processing functions, including the bank’s telephone customer service centers and the Internet channel.

Wray joined Citizens in 1993 and became CIO in 2000. Prior to that, he was with Shawmut Bank. In addition to technology and operations, his banking experience includes senior roles in credit and risk management. Prior to his banking assignments, Wray served as an Army officer and worked in commercial real estate investment.

A 1980 Distinguished Graduate (top 5%) of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he received a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University, attending under the auspices of a National Science Foundation Fellowship.

Wray serves on the Boards of the Providence Performing Arts Center, the YMCA of Greater Providence, Amos House, and Year Up Providence, in addition to other community service activities.

He and his wife Nancy have three children. They live in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
