Dr. Helmut M. Schühsler is the Managing Partner of TVM Capital’s European and US healthcare and life science investment activities with offices in Munich (HQ) and Boston, and Chief Executive of TVM Capital MENA Ltd., Dubai, UAE. He also serves as Chairman of the TVM Capital Life Science and Healthcare Practice. While TVM Capital currently focuses on life science venture capital in Europe and the US, sister company TVM Capital MENA manages the first dedicated healthcare private equity fund for the MENA region and India. The fund had a first closing in 2010 and has since closed two healthcare services transactions in the GCC.

Since joining TVM Capital in 1990, Dr. Schühsler has been the deal maker on more than 20 direct investments in life sciences companies in Europe and the U.S. and has overseen more than 80 investments in the healthcare market in total.

In 2007 and 2008, he served as chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA).

He is currently a member of the supervisory board of Max-Planck Innovation GmbH. He serves as a member of the Selection Committee for the Technology Pioneers program as well as the Steering Committee of the Entrepreneurship and Successful Growth Research Program of the World Economic Forum, the international advisory board of the National Technology Enterprises Corporation, Kuwait, and the advisory board of Evolvence India Life Science Fund, Hyderabad, India.
